It’s hard to believe that its been so long since I had the time to sit down and write a post for the site. In fact it’s been just over three years since my last post! Wow! I can hear all my client now saying “How come you don’t keep up with your own site but you tell me to post to my site all the time?” Well, the answer is quite simple. I’ve been very, very busy.

I certainly wouldn’t recommend that any of my clients go so long between posting something to their site. There have been small tweaks and updates on the site during the past three years but for the most part I haven’t really needed to change anything. The site was doing what it needed to do and I’ve had to use my time wisely and manage my clients sites. Thats what they pay me for. Right?

So during that time Dang Good Graphics has built sites for the Florida cities of Wilton Manors and Lauderdale By The Sea, some sites for an architecture firm, a water trolley, a church, a couple shopping mall sites and a soon to be opening entertainment venue in Cornelius, NC. Additionally we have some projects in development, such as a site for a childhood cancer foundation which should be going live soon.

I am happy to tell everyone that we still develop our websites using WordPress and the Divi theme. WordPress has come a long way in the last few years since I posted about their then upcoming release of Gutenberg. Now WordPress is the number one website content management tool on the internet with somewhere close to 50% of websites built on their platform. Divi, which is a page builder theme, allows us to build on top of the WordPress core and create custom websites built to our clients requirements.

The big news for Divi is that it is currently in development of a major upgrade to its core structures which will make it faster by meeting the ever changing demands of the internet. With Google’s recent announcement of their Core Web Vitals checklist, developers and designers are racing to make sure their sites will pass the test. Once Divi is updated our sites speed should increase dramatically.

While everyone around the world has been struggling through the pandemic things have not slowed down much for the DGG crew. After an initial period of shock everything digital seemed to only become more necessary as everyone found themselves quarantined in their houses. Our clients who are on our website maintenance plans were very happy that their sites were being monitored and updated regularly. Our client, WarehouseSuppliesOnline took the opportunity to have us restructure their products pages for better usability. On the other side of the spectrum our automotive clients took drastic measures, changing their traditional media to online advertising which tripled their need for internet banner advertising. There were many long days here in our office making sure that all of our clients jobs were processed and completed on time.

And so here we are at the end of April, 2021 waiting to see what will come next. Whatever comes around we are prepared to meet the challenge. Are you? If you need graphics, a new site developed or your current site updated or maintained by a time proven group, just contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
